My favorite day is almost here …

“Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.” — Psalm 116:7

There’s something sacred about Sundays …I feel it the moment I open my eyes, like I can finally exhale and settle into the day.

If you’re anything like me—a chronic over-achiever—Sundays feel like permission to slow down, rest, and reset. They aren’t just a day off… they’re a return to where my soul belongs.

I try to begin every morning with intention, but Sundays just feel different. There’s something about worship, the message, and time with my family that helps me reset in a deeper way. It gives me space to reflect, to breathe, and to reconnect with God before the week begins again.

I’ve learned that when I give that time away—even for something productive—I feel it. My peace goes with it. So I’ve started protecting that rhythm, because I’ve seen what it does for my heart.

I’ve come to really crave the rhythm of Sunday—the space to slow down, reconnect, and just be with Him.

One of the greatest gifts God ever gave to our family came with four legs and a tail … and lots of fur that shed all over my house.

We unexpectedly said goodbye to our sweet Eclair girl this week 💔😓 and I’m still trying to put words around a loss that feels so much bigger than I expected.

She wasn’t just a “dog.”
She was comfort on the hard days.
She was steady when everything else felt uncertain.
She was joy without effort.
She was unconditional love.

And for my son, Eclair was his dedicated service dog. She helped anchor him, helped bridge the social gap when he was younger, helped teach him responsibility, but she was more than a working dog … she was his best friend.

I know dogs aren’t angels … but Eclair actually was a #CanineAngel

And I do believe that God places certain souls in our lives at the exact moment we need them most.

Eclair was a blessing and a gift for all of us.
A quiet miracle in a season that needed one.

And maybe that’s what love like hers is meant to do—
reflect a glimpse of God’s heart…
loyal, constant, and close by.

We don’t get to have dogs forever.
But we get them exactly when we need them.

And I am so immensely grateful to God for placing Eclair with us, and for every beautiful memory we got to make with her.

FRIDAY BROKE OUR HEARTS … SUNDAY KEPT HIS PROMISE.

“He is not here: for He is risen, just as He said.” — Matthew 28:6 (NKJV)

A promise kept.

The empty tomb & the risen Christ is our reminder that God always does what He says He will do, no matter how impossible it looks.

Friday is heartbreaking.
Saturday is silent.
But Sunday…the tomb blasts open!

Because He lives, we can trust Him with what feels uncertain, unfinished, or broken.

He is faithful… then, now, and forever.

☘️☘️☘️I know most of us associate St. Patrick’s Day with green decorations, shamrocks, and celebratory parades… but the real story of St. Patrick is actually one of hardship, forgiveness, and faith.

Patrick wasn’t Irish. He was born around 385 A.D. in Roman Britain, (what is now Wales,) and at just 16 years old he was kidnapped and taken to Ireland as a slave. For six years he lived alone in the countryside as a shepherd.

It was during that lonely, quiet season that something changed. Patrick began praying constantly — hundreds of times a day — and the faith he once barely knew became real.

What looked like the hardest season of his life became the very place where God began shaping his calling.

After a dream from God showing him how to escape, and returning home, Patrick later felt called to go back to Ireland by another dream. He heeded God’s call and went back to Ireland. But not with bitterness or anger, but with the message of the Gospel.

He even used a simple shamrock to explain the Trinity:
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — three persons, one God.

Patrick’s life is such a beautiful reminder that sometimes the seasons that feel the most difficult are the very ones God uses to prepare us for what He has planned in the next season of our lives.

📖 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” - Romans 8:28

God’s grace is undeserved, unearned, and un-repayable favor.

It is not dependent on anything we do. Grace is sustained by God alone.

If you’ve ever felt like your spiritual life depends on your consistency — how faithful you feel or how much progress you think you’re making in your walk with God — then let Paul’s letter to the Ephesians be a reminder of a freeing truth:

Grace is a gift from God.

I wrote a short 5-minute devotional reflecting on Ephesians 2:8–10 and why salvation always produces fruit — but we never have to strive to earn it.

Sometimes we just need to be reminded that grace was always meant to be received, not achieved.

There’s still a hole in my wall from a meltdown this week. 😫

And yet this morning, God reminded me: “The joy of the Lord is your strength.”

I didn’t truly understand that verse until I watched my son worship after the storm.

Joy didn’t fix everything. But seeing the joy in him gave me hope — and strength.

As I read today’s @first5app devotional by Dr. Joel Muddamalle,
I was inspired to reflect on how I see God at work in my life right now —
through answered prayers, continued spiritual growth,
and the way He carries me through challenging days.

That’s the “already.”

But I also still feel healing in progress…
I’m still learning. Still trusting. Still becoming.

That’s the “not yet.”

He’s still working.
And I’m still a work in progress.

Grateful for today,
and hopeful for spending eternity with Jesus. ✨

Sometimes, it’s a quiet whisper from Heaven that says, “I see you.”

Moms, Can We Talk About The Heavy Weight of “What-Ifs?”

When I saw the Tylenol–autism headlines, my heart sank. Like so many of you, I trusted my doctors, I followed instructions, and I did my best.

For years, I wrestled with guilt—spiraling down the “what ifs” until I was overwhelmed. But here’s the truth: I made every decision with the knowledge I had at the time, and God was with me then, just as He is now.

Romans 8:28 reminds us: “In all things God works for the good of those who love him.”

Mama, your child was created on purpose, with a purpose. Their story—and yours—is secure in God’s hands. 💜

🌻Letting Go of the Life I Imagined 💫

When I became a mom, I had big dreams of what life would look like. But when my son was only 2½ years old and diagnosed with autism, the story I imagined collided with the reality God had placed in my hands.

And I had to face a hard truth:
👉 To live fully in the story God was writing, I had to let go of the one I envisioned.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him…” (Romans 8:28)

Letting go isn’t easy. It’s a daily choice. But in the surrender, I’ve discovered joy — not the fragile kind that depends on circumstances, but the steady joy of knowing God is faithful in every step.

1. God Will Never Leave You or Forsake You
Scripture: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” — Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)
✅ Promise: You are never alone. God’s presence is constant, even in the darkest seasons.

2. God Created You for a Purpose
Scripture: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” — Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
✅ Promise: You were intentionally designed by God, not by accident. He has meaningful work set aside for you that only you can fulfill.

3. God Gives Strength to the Weary
Scripture: “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ — 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)
✅ Promise: You don’t have to be strong all the time—God’s grace meets you in your weakness. His power shines brightest when you feel least capable.

4. God Forgives and Cleanses Our Sins
Scripture: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9 (NIV)
✅ Promise: No sin is too great for God’s mercy. You are washed clean through Christ.

5. God Works All Things for Good
Scripture: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” — Romans 8:28 (NIV)
✅ Promise: Even when life feels like it’s falling apart, God is weaving redemption into your story.

Out of hundreds of submissions, my teaching was selected for publication in the @first5app (Proverbs 31 Ministries) as part of their upcoming study 40 Days Through the New Testament — releasing in early 2026! ✨

This is extra special for me because the First 5 app has been part of my spiritual routine for the last 6+ years. It’s where I’ve started my mornings with Jesus, growing in His Word before the busyness of the day. To now have the opportunity to contribute to a resource that has shaped me so deeply? 💜 “You don’t have to be perfect to be awesome.” That’s a motto I’ve carried close to my heart ever since stepping into the journey of being an autism mom.

Perfection isn’t required—faith is. Strength is. Perseverance is. And when I forget that, I come back to this promise:

Jennifer Goss is a storyteller, Bible study leader, and autism mom who writes to remind others that even in life’s messiest moments, God is still near.

A retired actress and former television development executive turned entrepreneur, Jennifer brings a creative lens and a heart for ministry to everything she writes. Her work blends personal experience, spiritual truth, and timeless hope.

Her first book, Chosen for This, is a deeply personal memoir about parenting a child on the autism spectrum and learning to trust God with the story she didn’t expect.

She’s also developing a children’s book inspired by her grandchildren and a faith-based fiction series, End of Days, for teens that explores courage and conviction in the final days before Christ’s return.
